This guide should help you to work with the INTDIR search pages. Read through it and try out the functions explained.
In general the four searching options are very simple to use, so this page will only be a short introduction.

You can search the INTDIR database by four different options:

  • search by keywords
  • search by regions/countries
  • search by specific criteria
  • search in all fields

The Institutions are related to keywords describing their activities.

Choose the keyword you want to search for from the list provided. If you want to choose multiple keywords, hold down the control key while selecting them. To deselect a keyword also hold down the control key while clicking the keyword previously selected. When you have finished making yor selection choose "search". INTDIR will search for all Institutions related to at least one of the keywords you have selected.

 

Choose the regions you want to search for from the lists provided. If you want to choose multiple regions, hold down the control-key while selecting them. To deselect a region hold down the control key while clicking on th e region previously selected. Do the same, if you want to search for countries. When you have finished making your selection choose "search".

 

Fill in the strings you want to search for. You have to type in at least one field.  If you fill in different fields, INTDIR will search for all Institutions matching a minimum of one criteria. When you have finished choose "search".

 

Fill in the word you want to search for. INTDIR will search for all Institutions matching the word in a field or in a part of a field. When you have finished choose "search".

If you have chosen "search" on one of these pages, you will see...

When INTDIR has searched the database, it will show the Foundpage.

You can choose to...

- display the matches
- continue search

If you choose "continue search by...", you can search by the chosen criteria only in the matches your last query returned. To start a new search in all records choose "new search" in the left navigation bar.

If you choose "display", the Resultpage will appear.

This page will give you an overview about the Institutions your queries have returned. There are 10 matches displayed on every page.
With the navigationbar at the top you can switch through the pages.
The names of the institutions are links to the detailed information page.

This page shows detailed information about the institution you have chosen.
